The Challenge

Transforming multiple government applications into a single, cohesive digital platform to enhance service delivery for Dubai's citizens.
The Smart Dubai Government (SDG) faced the challenge of consolidating numerous government services into a single digital platform, as mandated by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed. The task was not only to develop the platform, but also to encourage various government entities to integrate their services into this unified hub, thereby simplifying access for citizens.

Achievements

  • Successfully established a strategic positioning for the unified platform.
  • Unified & integrated over 120 city services, transitioning to a full-fledged city-level digital platform serving both citizens and residents.
  • Enhanced user experience with intuitive, journey-based service categories and a user dashboard.
  • 800k Downloads of the DubaiNow app by Smart Dubai in 2018, unifying all city services on one digital platform.
  • Benchmarked websites and mobile apps to incorporate best practices and trends, enhancing the overall digital experience.
  • Collaborated with SDG to design a journey-based user experience, categorizing services for intuitive access.
  • Developed UI components that ensured consistency and adaptability across diverse services.
  • Adopted the city of Dubai's logo to reinforce the platform's citywide scope and trustworthiness.
  • Renamed the platform to "DubaiNow" to emphasize immediate access to government services.
  • A user dashboard was also included so that registered users could review with one-tap access their latest payments and due dates for a range of services from Salik (road tolls) and parking payments to visa renewals and utility bills.
